Evaluation

Far Lands launched at version 1.0 on January 19, 2024. At launch, the developer stated that updates would continue "as long as the game has a decent community size, interest from players and it's financially viable" — signaling that post-launch development was intended but contingent on community support. The game has a substantial track record of major content updates stretching back to 2022, well before the 1.0 release. These include the 0.3 Update (July 24, 2022), the 0.4 Co-op and Procedural Terrain update (October 23, 2022), the 0.5 Desert Update (January 29, 2023), the 0.6 Quality of Life Update (March 30, 2023), the 0.7.0 Update (May 5, 2023), the 0.8 Update (June 29, 2023), the 0.9.0 Heavy Duty Update (January 3, 2024), and the 1.1 Update (March 6, 2024) — a total of 8 major content drops. This establishes a consistent pattern of development across more than two years. Post-1.0, in addition to the 1.1 major update, the developer continued shipping feature patches and bug fixes through early 2024, and most recently published a bug fix on June 5, 2026. This latest patch — fixing an achievement trigger — confirms the developer remains actively engaged with the game as of June 2026. No specific future content has been announced, and there are no unreleased DLC entries on the store. However, with a developer who is demonstrably still patching the game as of June 5, 2026, and a long history of substantial updates, the game is best understood as one that continues to receive developer attention.
Evidence
1.1 Update shipped post-launch with new weapons (Revolver, Modern Shotgun, Advanced SMG, 9mm Sniper), a Recycler item, and a reworked weapon recoil system.

About this game

Get on the official Far Lands Discord Server:

Far Lands is a lightweight survival open-world game.

Lore:

You wake up and find out you are not home. In fact, what was home? There is no memory of that.

You are on a strange island and there is no time for panicking. Surviving is your only option. You start gathering food, crafting tools and building a base until you encounter something nobody sees every day.... A ZOMBIE! He starts attacking and you do too. He's dead for now... but who can assure he was the only one?

To find answers you start exploring more and more of the island, but the you only get more questions. Why are there are human build areas? Why there is no human life signs if there are human build areas? What was that skeleton?

Features:

  • Single-player, Co-op or PvP Multiplayer Server
  • Character hunger and thirst mechanics
  • Crafting
  • Gathering resources
  • Different Tiers of Weapons

The game is lightweight on mechanics because I feel the player would enjoy the adventure and having fun more.
