Evaluation

Valheim launched as version 1.0 on September 9, 2026, adding the Deep North biome — the game's final planned biome — along with a massive wave of new content including 40+ weapons, new creatures, new mechanics, and a new boss. This concluded the roadmap Iron Gate AB had been working toward since Early Access began in February 2021. On September 30, 2026, just three weeks after the 1.0 launch, Iron Gate AB posted an official update directly addressing what comes next for the game. In it, they stated: "We can promise you that there are more content updates coming, though exactly what that content will be, we can't reveal just yet. Simply rest assured that there is more in the works for Valheim, and we will be sure to announce it when we have news." This is a clear developer commitment to future content, even though the specific deliverables have not yet been named. The same post also noted that the monthly "Words from the Devs" format is ending — the studio will communicate when they have news to share rather than on a fixed schedule. This reflects the transition from Early Access development cadence to a post-launch footing, but it does not signal the end of content development. The only store DLC is the Valheim Soundtrack (released October 2021), and no new DLC has been listed as unreleased. The upcoming content the developer referenced is promised but not yet formally announced with specifics.
Evidence
Iron Gate AB explicitly confirmed that more content updates are coming post-1.0, though they cannot yet reveal what the content will be. They stated: 'Simply rest assured that there is more in the works for Valheim.'

About this game

Valheim is a collaborative exploration and survival game for 1-10 players set in a procedurally generated world inspired by Norse mythology. Craft powerful weapons, construct elaborate halls, and slay mighty foes to prove yourself to Odin!

Discover an immersive procedurally generated world, with different biomes that each have their distinct environments, unique resources and dangerous enemies. Become a Viking and sail the open seas in search of lands unknown, alone or with up to nine friends!

The Tenth World has been corrupted by hateful forces, in the shape of mighty regional bosses known as the Forsaken. Hone your skills with axes, blades and bows, and prepare yourself by crafting the very best equipment – for it is only by defeating these Forsaken that you will advance in your progress and prove yourself to the Allfather.

Raise Viking longhouses and build bases that offer reprieve from the dangers ahead. Whether you build a small shelter, an entire village or a mountain-side fortress, defence and structural integrity are important, as is decorating it for maximum comfort!

As you discover new materials, you will learn new recipes for crafting, building and cooking – all that a Viking might need! The food system is rewarding rather than punishing, granting you boons and benefits depending on what you eat, and is directly tied to the combat system, where your health and stamina might be just the thing that makes a difference between life and death.

Community-translated languages
In addition to the officially supported languages, Valheim has several community-translated languages. As the name would suggest, these are all translated by fans and members of the community, and the process is frequently ongoing. Thus, we cannot guarantee the quality or completeness of any specific translation.
