Evaluation
The Last Farmer launched on October 24, 2024. In the months following launch, the developer (Geekon) was actively engaged: they published a post-launch roadmap on October 25, 2024 listing a range of planned improvements, and then delivered a series of feature updates through January 6, 2025, adding things like vehicle customization, new NPCs, expanded locations, new missions, and a blocking mechanic. However, the most recent developer communication on record is the January 6, 2025 feature patch — and there have been no posts of any kind since then. That means the developer has been silent since January 6, 2025, over 17 months ago as of today (June 20, 2026). The roadmap from October 2024 listed numerous planned improvements, but many of those items appear to have been addressed in the subsequent patches. There is no unreleased DLC listed on the store, no season pass, and no explicit statement from the developer promising future content beyond what has already shipped. The historical update pattern — which was quite active in the first few months post-launch — has now gone completely quiet, well past the point where another update would be expected if the developer intended to continue. The developer has also not made any statement declaring the game complete or announcing a studio closure. The silence is prolonged enough that the active post-launch cadence has clearly ended, but without a formal "final update" statement, the completion date cannot be precisely pinned. Given the absence of any announced or listed future content, and the extended developer silence since January 6, 2025, the game reads as a completed product with no further content expected.
Evidence
Feature patch added a new NPC and addressed numerous bug fixes. This is the most recent developer communication on record.
One day after launch, the developer published a post-launch roadmap listing planned improvements including autosave, performance optimization, vehicle upgrades, expanded quests, and more.

About this game
In a world where civilization has long since disappeared, “The Last Farmer” invites you to engage in a struggle to revive a land drained of its vitality. Set in the forgotten reaches of Texas, where life once thrived, your mission is to survive and attempt to bring even a shadow of the world’s former glory back.
The world around you is full of dangers, and the main threat is the zombies. There are many of them, ranging from slow and clumsy to fast and deadly. These creatures are a constant menace, one you can't easily escape. But even they can be of use: zombies can be processed into fertilizer, helping you restore the fertility of the dead land.
Your primary tool for survival in this desolate world is the farm you build and develop. Growing crops becomes the foundation of your existence, with water drawn from a lake to irrigate the land. Every seed planted is a step toward restoring this forsaken soil. Livestock also play a crucial role, providing meat for sustenance and manure for improving the soil.
But farming is only part of survival. You'll need to craft tools and firearms to defend yourself and maintain your farm. Resources can be processed into biofuel, which is vital for keeping your operation running and surviving in this harsh world.
One of the key mechanics is assembling a vehicle. By scavenging parts scattered across the map, you can piece together a car that will become your reliable companion in this chaos. The vehicle will help you explore the land, and its trunk can be used to store looted resources. Additionally, it becomes a weapon against the zombies—run them down! At night, you can turn on the headlights to light your way, and if you need a break, you can listen to the radio.
Along the way, you'll encounter corrupt military forces, whose motives are always questionable. Sometimes they may help, but more often, they'll bring new challenges. Traces of other survivors still surface, but the question remains: are they real, or merely remnants of old legends?
“The Last Farmer” is more than just a survival story. It’s a journey through an empty world, where every step could be your last. Can you restore life to a place where it might no longer be possible? Or will the wasteland swallow you, as it has done to everyone else?
