Evaluation
The Last NightMary launched on Steam on November 2, 2015, developed as a student final project at the Federal University of Piauí. The studio spent the first few months post-launch patching the game — adding Mac and Linux support, new language translations, and fixing bugs and achievements. A soundtrack DLC was released on March 14, 2016.
On August 13, 2016, the developer announced they were working on a sequel (The Last NightMary 2: The Crispim's Curse), with a demo in development and plans to incorporate VR technology. That announcement is the last recorded communication from the studio. No sequel, demo, or any further update has materialized since then.
The original game itself is complete — all announced content (the soundtrack DLC) was released, all patches were shipped, and the base game was delivered as a finished student project. The sequel announcement from August 13, 2016 was for a separate, standalone product, not additional content for this game. Since nearly a decade has passed with no follow-up, the sequel was almost certainly never completed or released, but that does not affect the status of this original title, which stands as a finished product.
