The Local

The Local is a free-to-play movement game that launched on February 26, 2025. On June 11, 2025, the developer announced that active development had ended and that future updates would mostly be bug fixes, possibly with a few small additions. The developer then shipped several major updates: the PRIX course on October 18, 2025, the Giant's Heart area with two new Timed courses on April 3, 2026, and THE REMIX UPDATE on September 22, 2026. The Remix update added remixed versions of all 30 Timed courses, new Remix tags for the level editor, and a Remix Superboard. These releases are substantial content rather than small additions, so they show the developer kept building the game beyond the wind-down plan. The game is still receiving major updates, and the point at which its content will be considered finished has not been set.
