The Mummy Demastered launched on October 24, 2017 as a self-contained 16-bit-style action-adventure game tied to the 2017 Universal Monsters film. WayForward released a feature patch on June 8, 2018 that added gameplay rebalancing, reduced grind, and Chinese language support. That post is the last communication specific to this game. The store description presents a complete, feature-rich product with no mention of future content, DLC, or updates. There are no DLC listings and no unreleased content on the store. The two more recent news posts from 2024 (March 1 and March 13) are announcements for an entirely different WayForward game, Contra: Operation Galuga, and contain no reference to The Mummy Demastered. The Mummy Demastered throws you into a 16-bit-inspired battle against the undead in a 2D, nonlinear, action-packed adventure. As an elite agent in the monster-hunting Prodigium organization, you must use a variety of weapons, upgrades, and mysterious artifacts to defend mankind against the supernatural hordes of Princess Ahmanet. Your Prodigium unit is already on the scene, but HQ lost contact with them hours ago. Only by exploring tombs, forests, abandoned tunnels, and the cursed streets of London will you discover the fate of your allies. But beware - Ahmanet commands legions of undead, insects, plague-ridden vermin, and worse! If you're not careful, you'll be the next soul in her army.
