Evaluation
The VR Museum of Fine Art launched on August 20, 2016 as a free-to-play VR experience. The developer shipped one major content update — the Second Floor Update on February 3, 2017 — which added new paintings, sculptures, an elevator, a café, and quality-of-life improvements. This was followed by two small maintenance patches in March 2017 to refine the pamphlet interaction and fix minor bugs, the last of which was posted on March 10, 2017. That is the final developer communication on record. The store description references the Second Floor update as the most recent addition and notes that "more are coming" for both sculptures and paintings, but this language appears to be original launch copy that was never updated — it predates or reflects early aspirations that were not followed through with subsequent releases. No new major content has shipped since February 2017, no future content has been announced, no unreleased DLC is listed, and the developer has not posted any updates since March 10, 2017. With no further developer activity across more than nine years, the game is best understood as a finished product that concluded its active development in early 2017.
Evidence
The Second Floor Update shipped, adding new paintings, sculptures, an elevator, a café, and quality-of-life improvements. This is the sole major content release post-launch.
Small patch toggling pamphlet trigger and fixing a cursor bug. This is the last known developer communication.

About this game
Just updated! Welcome to the Museum's Second Floor!
See new sculptures, ride the elevator, check out the Café, and enjoy the new Water Lilies exhibition.
Welcome to The VR Museum of Fine Art, Steam's finest art gallery.
Depending on who you ask, of course.
If you've been training to be a space pirate and building fantastical contraptions all day, the Museum is your ticket to a well-deserved break. Surround yourself with 1:1 scale sculptures and paintings, and we won't tell anybody if you touch the merchandise! No rope barriers or glass walls here. Feel free to explore the artwork however you see fit. Roomscale VR lets you walk around, duck under, and even hug the life-sized figures.
The initial release of The VR Museum includes 15 high-fidelity sculptures, and more are coming. In addition, two famous paintings are included, scanned and rendered in crisp detail. In future releases, both collections of sculpture and paintings are sure to expand. The artwork is arranged thoughtfully into four exhibits, each with its own theme.
If you ever actually feel like learning something, informative holographic plaques are placed next to each piece of art. That does involve reading, though, and that's a lot of work.
Tickets are free, drinks are temporarily non-existent, and the artwork is pristine. Enjoy!
