About this game

SOMETHING IS WATCHING FROM THE WOODS

Stranded in Hollow Nature Reserve, you must search cabins, campsites, and abandoned buildings for the supplies you need to escape.

But one of you is the Wendigo.

Beyond your flashlight beam, it can hide among the wildlife, disappear into the trees, or approach wearing a familiar face. Every encounter leaves you with a decision: trust them, run, or risk finding out.

SURVIVE THE RESERVE

The Wendigo Lives is an asymmetrical multiplayer horror game for 2–5 players, built around proximity voice chat, exploration, and deception.

Players begin at different landmarks across the reserve. Each stranded survivor has a personal list of supplies to find. Search backpacks, coolers, cabinets, and shelves—but searching takes time and leaves you vulnerable.

Find your friends and watch each other’s backs. Just remember that the person offering to help may be waiting for you to look away.

HUNT YOUR FRIENDS

One player becomes the Wendigo, with four forms to exploit:

  • Wendigo — Hunt, attack, follow scent trails, and feed on fallen survivors.

  • Survivor — Blend into the group, pretend to search, and turn trust against them.

  • Deer — Move among the wildlife without immediately revealing yourself.

  • Tree — Become part of the landscape and wait for someone to come too close.

Use taunts, transformations, and carefully timed attacks to divide the group. Track where survivors have been through fading scent trails, cut power to their shelter, and break through doors and hiding places.

LIGHT IS A CHOICE

Your flashlight helps you navigate, but its beam can draw attention. Save enough battery for an intense flash that can repel the Wendigo and buy you time to escape.

Restore power to illuminate buildings and nearby paths—or move through the darkness with more limited light. The Wendigo can shut those lights off again.

Search for equipment that changes your options:

  • Batteries to keep your flashlight running.

  • First-aid kits to recover health.

  • Scent-removal bottles to temporarily conceal your trail.

  • Paired walkie-talkies to communicate beyond proximity range.

  • Flare guns to illuminate an area and expose Wendigo disguises.

  • Glow sticks to carry or throw as an alternative light source.

You can carry only one utility type at a time. Choose what matters most, or leave something behind for another survivor.

HIDE. LISTEN. STAY CALM.

When escape is out of reach, hide beneath a bed, inside a tent, behind a bathroom door, or within dense brush.

Hiding gives you a chance to recover your composure, but it is no guarantee of safety. The Wendigo can destroy hiding places—and sometimes listening is the only way to know whether it has gone.

Fear slows searching and affects stamina and aim. Panic also makes you noisier. Staying calm can matter as much as staying out of sight.
