ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove!

ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove! launched on February 28, 2019 and received a steady stream of patches and two major content updates post-launch: the "Still in the Groove" update (January 19, 2021), which added larger handcrafted maps, hidden Power Hats, and present synergies, and a follow-up trailer post (May 11, 2021) confirming the same update's arrival on Nintendo Switch. The last meaningful content addition was the crossplay update on October 13, 2022, which added Epic Games Store crossplay support. The October 2021 developer post (NEWS-4) addressed the question of new ToeJam & Earl games directly, stating the studio was only "considering" making new games — explicitly noting this was not a confirmation. No new content for Back in the Groove! was announced or delivered after that point. By October 2025, the developer's attention had clearly shifted: HumaNature Studios posted an announcement (NEWS-1) about their next game, "Dancing with Ghosts," directing players to a separate Kickstarter post for any ToeJam & Earl updates. This signals the studio has moved on to a new project. The sole DLC on record is the soundtrack, which released in June 2019 and is fully available. No unreleased DLC is listed. The two major content updates between 2021 and 2022 represent the full post-launch content cycle, and no further updates have shipped since October 2022. With the studio now publicly focused on a new title and nearly four years of silence on Back in the Groove! content, the game is complete as shipped.
