Tom Clancy's The Division 2 is a fully active live service game now in its 8th year of seasonal content. The developer has been communicating actively and shipping content at a high cadence. On August 26, 2026 — today's date — Ubisoft held a Gamescom panel revealing a substantial amount of upcoming content: Year 8 Season 3 (Red Horizon) launches August 27, 2026, bringing new modifiers, exotic weapons and gear, Dark Zone updates including a permanent Toxic PvE Dark Zone, and a Season Pass. Beyond that, the developer teased Year 8 Season 4, which will return the Black Tusk and overhaul multiple endgame systems. They also announced a brand-new expansion called Echoes of Central Park, set in a previously unexplored part of New York City, with a dedicated showcase scheduled for September 24, 2026. Crossplay across all platforms is confirmed for November 2026, described as a significant infrastructure rebuild. Prior to today's announcements, the game shipped a mid-season incursion update on August 10, 2026 (Broken Rain), a summer Dust Storm event on July 20, 2026, and the Into the Dark season launched on June 16, 2026. Before that, Rise Up launched April 2, 2026, introducing the new Escalation and Prototype Gear systems. The 10th Anniversary showcase in March 2026 laid out the full Year 8 roadmap. The DLC list reflects the game's ongoing seasonal content model, with the most recent items (Into the Dark Bundle and Supply Drop) released June 16, 2026. All ten listed DLC items are released and correspond to seasonal content bundles. Ubisoft has given no indication whatsoever that development is winding down. With a new season, a new expansion announced, Season 4 teased, and crossplay launching in November, the game is firmly in ongoing live service operation.
