Total War: WARHAMMER III launched on February 16, 2022 and has been receiving a continuous stream of paid DLC and major free updates ever since. Major DLC releases include Champions of Chaos (August 2022), Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs (April 2023), Thrones of Decay (April 2024), Omens of Destruction (December 2024), Shadows of Change (March 2025), Tides of Torment (December 2025), and the Bhashiva Character Pack (May 2026).
The next content drop is now confirmed and dated: on August 13, 2026, Creative Assembly announced that Lords of the End Times — described as "the biggest DLC in the series' 10-year history" — will release on September 24, 2026. It brings four new Legendary Lords: Nagash, Thanquol, Boris Todbringer, and The Glottkin, all of whom currently appear as unreleased entries in the DLC list. The February 16, 2026 developer update also confirmed that Update 9.0 will deliver a long-awaited Vampire Counts overhaul and introduce Neferata as a free Legendary Lord alongside the Lords of the End Times release.
The studio has remained consistently active, with Patch 8.0 shipping on May 21, 2026, Patch 8.1 on July 9, 2026, and a hotfix on July 16, 2026. The game's end-of-year 2025 developer letter explicitly stated "we are not finished with Total War: WARHAMMER III." There is no indication from Creative Assembly that development is winding down.
