Tower of Fantasy

Tower of Fantasy is a free-to-play shared open-world MMORPG that launched globally on October 19, 2022. It is designed as an ongoing live service game — new content arrives on a regular version update schedule, the game runs seasonal passes with purchasable premium currency (Tanium), and it features rotating competitive and PvE seasons that reset periodically by design. The game went through a notable publisher transition: on December 25–27, 2024, Level Infinite announced it was handing publishing duties to Perfect World Games (the parent company of developer Hotta Studio), effective February 23, 2025. This was an orderly handover — both parties confirmed the game would continue operating under the new publisher, player data was migrated, and new version updates resumed without interruption under Perfect World Games. The transition resolved cleanly. The update cadence has been exceptionally consistent and frequent. Among the 8 major content updates visible in the current data: Ver.5.0 "Kailo Sector" (May 13, 2025), Ver.5.5 "Starfall Burst" (November 25, 2025), Ver.5.6 "Doomed Evolution" (December 30, 2025), Ver.5.65 "Dedicated Hunter" (February 3, 2026), Ver.5.7 "Witch of Time" (March 10, 2026), Ver.5.8 "Wings of Icarus" (April 14, 2026), and most recently Ver.6.2 "Dreamland Beyond the Void" (August 4, 2026). Each update adds new story chapters, characters (Simulacra), maps, game modes, and seasonal content, with a cadence of approximately every 4–6 weeks. Each version also includes a new season pass vehicle or outfit available for Tanium (e.g., Season 36 Pass Vehicle in Ver.6.2), confirming the game's monetized seasonal content cycle remains fully active. As of August 27, 2026, the last major update was on August 4, 2026 — just 23 days ago — well within the established update window. There is no developer statement indicating development is concluding.
