Townsmen (the original 2016 release, App ID 486540) is no longer available for purchase on Steam — the store listing has no purchase options. This effectively means the game has been removed from sale. The context makes clear why: in January 2019, HandyGames announced that a remastered and improved version called Townsmen – A Kingdom Rebuilt would launch on February 26, 2019, and would be granted free of charge to all existing owners of the original 2016 game. That successor title launched as announced. The original Townsmen was superseded by this new release, and its store page no longer offers a way to buy it. The game received one content update in May 2017 and no further developer communication after the February 2019 launch announcement for the sequel.
