Evaluation

TRIP Steam Edition launched on June 19, 2015 as a self-described "artware" — a 3D art platform with explorable virtual spaces and no gameplay objectives. Shortly after launch, on June 22, 2015, the developer announced a first batch of content updates was coming, and that update arrived on October 24, 2015, adding 8 new sets with original music. In that October post, the developer mentioned there would be "more sets and songs in the coming months," but no further updates were ever posted — the October 24, 2015 post is the last developer communication on record, now over a decade ago with no follow-through on that promise. Given the extremely long silence and the absence of any roadmap, announced DLC, or further communication, that passing remark about future content was never acted upon and should not be treated as a standing commitment. The game launched as a finished artistic product and received one meaningful content update before going quiet. The store description continues to accurately describe the experience as it exists today.
