Evaluation
Tyranny launched on November 10, 2016 and received a modest but complete post-launch content cycle. Two paid content releases arrived in 2017: the Tales from the Tiers event pack on June 13, 2017, and the Bastard's Wound expansion — the game's largest piece of DLC — on September 7, 2017. A free update shipped alongside Bastard's Wound adding new voice acting, expanded story content, and a new cinematic finale. Several bug fix patches followed through October 2017, and the studio marked the game's second anniversary in November 2018 with a small free gift pack of two portraits and some gear, alongside a promotional sale and the introduction of a "Tyranny Gold Edition" bundle. All five DLC items listed on the store are released, with the most recent dated September 7, 2017. There have been no developer communications about new content since the November 2018 anniversary post — over seven years of silence — and no roadmap, unannounced DLC, or forward-looking statements exist anywhere in the record. The update pattern ended naturally after Bastard's Wound shipped, with only maintenance patches following. The game launched as a complete, story-driven RPG and received its full complement of planned content by September 2017. It is a finished product.

About this game
Play an RPG with meaningful, world-altering choices, unique and memorable companions, and a new perspective on morality. Tyranny casts you as the arbiter of law in a world devastated by war and conquered by a despot. Will you work inside the system or try to dismantle it… and will it be for the glory of Kyros, for the good of the world, or for your own ambition?
From Obsidian Entertainment, the team behind Pillars of Eternity, Fallout: New Vegas, and South Park: The Stick of Truth, Tyranny is a classic-styled RPG with a new and original story, shaped and molded by your actions. The very layout of the world will be altered by your decisions as you choose sides, make allies and enemies, and fight for your own vision of law and order in an immersive and reactive story.
