Evaluation
Unlasting Horror entered Steam Early Access on February 4, 2021 and remains in that state today. The developer — a solo indie creator — put significant effort into the game through early 2023, delivering a major V2 overhaul in April 2023 (Update 2.0.0 and a full game rework in May 2023) that replaced graphics, animations, gameplay systems, and expanded the map. Several feature patches followed through June 2023.
On July 2, 2023, the developer posted an announcement promising "major changes" and a "big announcement coming soon." A bug fix post followed on July 10, 2023 — and then nothing. As of June 27, 2026, there have been no developer posts, updates, or communications of any kind for nearly three years. The promised major announcement was never made.
The game is still listed for purchase in Early Access, meaning it has not officially reached a 1.0 release. The developer's own posts indicated the game was an ongoing work in progress with more content (additional levels, environments, weapons, and AI types) planned. However, given the prolonged and unexplained silence since July 10, 2023, it is genuinely unclear whether development is continuing. The game appears to have stalled in Early Access without explanation.
Evidence
Bug fix post on July 10, 2023 — the last developer communication of any kind on record.
Full game rework shipped with overhauled graphics, animations, new weapons, monsters, and gameplay systems.
