Vision Soft Reset launched on January 16, 2019 as a complete, standalone metroidvania experience. The developer, Mark Radocy, took a full-time industry job shortly after launch, which paused any VSR updates for roughly three years. In May 2022, he returned to indie development, formed Seafloor Games LLC, and issued a round of bug fixes and quality-of-life patches for VSR. In that same May 2022 post, he made clear that his studio's focus had shifted entirely to a new project called Moonlight Pulse — VSR is being maintained but no new content is planned for it. Subsequent updates (through January 2026) have been purely maintenance: fixing visual glitches, patching a security vulnerability, and adding achievements. There are no unreleased DLC listings, no roadmap for additional content, and no developer statement suggesting further story or gameplay expansions are coming. The game shipped as a finished product and remains one.
