Vital Shell

Vital Shell launched on January 7, 2026 as a complete 1.0 product with five levels, five characters, five bosses, and a full suite of weapons and abilities. Since launch, the developer (MarvinWizard) has been extremely active, shipping two major content updates: Arcade Mode (January 31, 2026), which introduced three new game types including an endlessly scaling wave mode, and Local Co-op & Steam Workshop (May 29, 2026), which added 2-player co-op, modding support, class-specific protocols, and five new co-op-exclusive protocols. Between those milestones, the developer shipped a continuous flow of feature patches covering controller support, localizations, balance changes, new cursor options, and a permanent reroll gem system. The most recent update was a bug fix on June 5, 2026. The developer has not announced specific upcoming content, but given the sustained and frequent update pattern since launch — with no indication that development is winding down — the game is clearly in a period of active ongoing improvement and expansion. No roadmap or named future DLC has been listed.
