West of Loathing

West of Loathing launched on August 10, 2017 as a complete, self-contained comedy RPG. The developer released one paid DLC expansion — Reckonin' at Gun Manor — on February 8, 2019, which represents the only major content addition to the game. Both DLC entries in the store listing (the expansion and the soundtrack) are fully released, and there are no unreleased DLC items. Since the Gun Manor expansion shipped, Asymmetric has continued to support the game with maintenance and polish patches — fixing bugs, improving compatibility, adding Steam Deck support in March 2022, and applying a security fix as recently as October 16, 2025. However, none of these updates constitute new major content, and the developer has made no announcements of any additional expansions, DLC, or content updates. The developer has never explicitly announced an end to content development, but the pattern is clear: one expansion shipped in 2019, and over six years have passed with no major content releases and no announcements of any future content. The game launched as a finished product and received a single content expansion, which has now also been out for years. There is nothing announced or pending, and the ongoing patches are purely maintenance in nature. The game is complete as of the Gun Manor expansion's release date.
