Evaluation
The original Wrack released on September 30, 2014 as a complete, finished product. Its only post-launch addition was a soundtrack DLC released on December 18, 2014, and a minor feature patch in October 2014. The developer, Final Boss Entertainment, went quiet and ultimately closed its doors in 2019 after releasing a separate game, Wrack: Exoverse.
In November 2024, the studio announced it had reopened and was working on two new projects: a remake of the original Wrack (eventually titled Wrack: Reclamation) and a separate new game. On November 22, 2025, Wrack: Reclamation launched as a brand-new, standalone game on its own Steam store page. A November 2025 developer post confirmed that game was completed and released as planned.
In parallel, the developer announced in November 2025 that a Wrack Episode 2 is now in early production — but this content is planned for Wrack: Reclamation (the new game), not for the original Wrack reviewed here. The original Wrack has received no new content since late 2014 and none is planned for it. It launched and was completed as a standalone product.
