The developer (Bitwave Games, formerly Retroid) explicitly described the Wunderling DX update — released on March 8, 2022 — as "the ultimate and final version" of the game in both the announcement post and the launch post. The game's content history tells a complete arc: the base game launched on March 5, 2020, followed by patches and feature updates through mid-2020, then the free "Kohlrabi's Ruin" content update on June 22, 2021 (adding a new world, 15 levels, a boss fight, and more), and finally the Wunderling DX deluxe edition on March 8, 2022, which bundled all prior content alongside new levels, items, and a speedrun timer.
