Evaluation
Yooka-Laylee launched on April 11, 2017. In the weeks following launch, Playtonic committed to and delivered quality-of-life improvements — most notably a camera and voice patch released on June 27, 2017 — which represented the studio's post-launch polish effort for the original game. Both DLC items (the soundtrack and digital artbook) were released on launch day, and no further paid content was ever added to the game.
The developer's energy over subsequent years has been directed toward separate projects rather than additional content for this title. Yooka-Replaylee — a significantly expanded reimagining of the original game released as a standalone product on October 9, 2025 — is a separate game, not DLC or an update to Yooka-Laylee. Similarly, the June 2026 announcement of Super Yooka-Laylee Kart is a new standalone title currently in development, posted to the Yooka-Laylee store page as a franchise update.
The original Yooka-Laylee is a complete, finished product. All announced content shipped at or shortly after launch, no further updates or expansions have been released or announced for this title, and Playtonic has moved on to building new entries in the franchise.
Evidence

Explore huge, beautiful worlds, meet (and beat) an unforgettable cast of characters and horde a vault-load of shiny collectibles as buddy-duo Yooka (the green one) and Laylee (the wisecracking bat with the big nose) embark on an epic adventure to thwart corporate creep Capital B and his devious scheme to absorb all the world’s books… and convert them into pure profit!
Using their arsenal of special moves, our heroes will tackle a huge variety of puzzles and platforming challenges in their search for Pagies, the golden bounty used to unlock — and expand — stunning new worlds, each jammed to the gills with oddball characters, hulking bosses, minecart challenges, arcade games, quiz shows, multiplayer games… and much more!
