Yore VR entered Steam Early Access on October 24, 2016 and has remained in Early Access ever since, never graduating to a full 1.0 release. During its active period (October 2016 through late June 2017), the developer posted weekly updates and shipped numerous patches covering new creatures, a massive new map, a dungeon system, multiplayer groundwork, engine upgrades, and a full code rewrite. The last developer communication was on June 28, 2017 (the "Week #36" update), which mentioned plans for an advanced combat system and advanced crafting as the next major goals. No further updates, announcements, or communications from Tectonic VR have appeared since that date. The game has been completely silent from the developer for nearly 9 years as of June 2026, with those promised systems never delivered and the game still carrying its Early Access label. The store page still reflects the Early Access disclaimer and lists future features ("potential future activities such as Co-op MP, herb gathering, alchemy, melee combat, dungeons") that were never completed.

Yore VR is an open world sandbox game built from the ground up in VR for the HTC Vive. If you enjoy resource gathering, hunting, crafting and a simpler time, you will find plenty to do in Yore VR. With two game modes, you can practice forging or start in the open world with nothing but the clothes on your back. Blacksmithing fans will find over 40 different components, blades, hilts, crossguards and pommels to use for crafting.
Before you can get to work in the shop, you'll have to find wood for your fire and ore for the smelter so pick up your trusty pick-axe and venture out in search of iron.
If weapons are your thing, earn gold to unlock a virtual arsenal of medieval weapons. Starting with 4 unique crossbows and a bow we will be introducing dozens of different weapons. Hone your skills in the shooting range or a variety of other areas meant to test your skill.
