Zumbi Blocks 2 Open Alpha

Zumbi Blocks 2 launched as a free-to-play open alpha on April 15, 2023, and has been under consistent, active development by its solo developer ever since. The update history shows a steady stream of major content drops: a crafting and AI overhaul in early 2025, a third boss (Reaper) and new weapons tier in December 2025, game modes and perks in February 2026, a challenges and achievement system with a helicopter rescue ending in May 2026, and a substantial melee/gore/inventory overhaul (version 2.1.6.0) on July 24, 2026 — followed by a bug fix patch on August 3, 2026. The last developer communication was on August 3, 2026, just 24 days before today's assessment date. A key developer announcement from December 4, 2025 confirmed that development is now proceeding on two parallel tracks: the current free version (capped at Tier 3 content) will continue to receive features, mechanics, and quality-of-life improvements, while a separate paid version is being developed with Tier 4+ weapons, a fifth boss in "Calamity" mode, and exclusive content. The March 2026 update explicitly confirmed work on Tier 4 guns for the paid version. The July 2026 update reiterated the existence of the planned paid release and noted that the free Open Alpha will continue to be maintained and updated alongside it. The developer has not announced any conclusion to development. All signs point to ongoing, active work with a clear roadmap direction.
