IfSunSets is an Early Access open-world survival RPG that launched into Early Access on November 4, 2024, and remains in active development toward a planned Version 1.0 release. On August 30, 2026, POLYMORPH CEO Cho published a detailed developer note laying out exactly where the game is headed. The team is now fully focused on creating the game's ending quest and a final large-scale Kraken boss battle — described as the biggest battle they've ever built. The developer explicitly states that Version 1.0 is targeting a release by the end of 2026. The game has seen consistent, substantial updates throughout its Early Access period. Major content releases include a Combat Overhaul (July 12, 2025), a Night of the Dead expansion (September 26, 2025), a large-scale Ocean Content update introducing shipbuilding, sailing, and underwater exploration (April 29, 2026), and a Naval Battle update with new ship combat systems and enemies (June 26, 2026). The developer reports having shipped 71 hotfixes and 7 major updates since Early Access began, with weekly hotfixes continuing up to the most recent patch on August 29, 2026. The game is currently at version 0.8.9. Development is clearly active, with the studio transparently communicating both what has been accomplished and what still lies ahead before the full release.

IfSunSets is an open-world survival adventure RPG set on the mysterious island of Luminora, brimming with pirate lore and legends of a Kraken.
