Evaluation
A Long Way Down launched in Early Access on January 16, 2020 and graduated to its full 1.0 release on August 27, 2020. The 1.0 release post (NEWS-3) outlines all the content added since Early Access began — a new world, an infinite roguelite "Pit" mode with new characters, the story conclusion, cutscenes, and a full suite of fixes and improvements — framing it as the complete package the developers had been building toward. The roadmap published in January 2020 (NEWS-8) listed the full release as the final milestone, and no post-launch content — no DLC, no expansions, no roadmap for additional updates — has been announced at any point after the 1.0 launch. The last developer communication of any kind was the Goblinz publisher anniversary post on March 18, 2021 (NEWS-1), which was a general publisher news item about other games and sales, not a signal of ongoing development for this title. No further posts appear in the 35 scanned. There are no unreleased DLC entries in the store listing. The game shipped as a complete, self-contained experience and there is no evidence of any planned post-launch content.
