Evaluation

Albedo: Eyes from Outer Space launched out of Early Access on April 10, 2015. The developer's post on April 8, 2015 explicitly declared the game's development journey complete, describing it as "the last dev diary post" and celebrating the full release. The only DLC ever released was a free soundtrack pack on April 17, 2015, which represented the final content addition. Following the full release, a handful of patches shipped through September 2015 to smooth difficulty and fix bugs, but none introduced new story content. The last developer communication of any kind was a September 21, 2015 quality-of-life patch. A news post from April 2020 appeared on this game's feed but was actually a cross-promotion for an unrelated game (Spirit of the North) by the publisher — not a sign of renewed development on Albedo. No future content has ever been announced, no unreleased DLC exists on the store, and the developer has made no statements suggesting further updates are planned. The game shipped as a complete, self-contained experience and has been in that state since mid-2015.

About this game

Inspired by 60s pulp sci-fi movies, Albedo: Eyes From Outer Space is a first-person adventure game. Working as a night-watchman at a partially abandoned, secret research facility, you are knocked unconscious by a nearby explosion. Waking in the complex’s basement you look up and see a gaping hole in the ceiling. Escaping the damaged building is only the start of your troubles and as you begin to explore the base you encounter strange, unearthly organisms. Is this all because of some sort of biological experiment gone wrong? You’ll need to fight for survival as you unravel the mysteries and solve the problems that lie ahead.
