Suicide Guy VR launched on July 24, 2020 and received several post-launch patches in its early weeks, including new levels and VR device compatibility improvements. A more substantial compatibility update (version 1.24) shipped on June 13, 2023.
On December 26, 2024, the developer posted a holiday message teasing that "a possible sequel is in the works." Then on August 30, 2025, the developer announced that an update with improved graphics and bug fixes was coming "next month" (September 2025), along with a Nintendo Switch 2 enhanced edition. As of June 25, 2026, no such update has appeared, and there have been no developer communications since that August 30, 2025 post — nearly ten months of silence after a concrete near-term promise. It is unclear whether the promised September 2025 update was released or quietly abandoned.
