Evaluation
Angry Video Game Nerd II: ASSimilation launched on March 29, 2016, followed by two patches (Patch 1.2 on March 30, 2016 and Patch 1.3 on May 26, 2016) that addressed bugs and added achievements. The only DLC ever released was the original soundtrack, which shipped alongside the game on launch day. The last developer communication for this game was Patch 1.3 on May 26, 2016 — nearly a decade ago. No further content was ever announced or released for this title.
In October 2020, the developer announced and released "Angry Video Game Nerd I & II Deluxe," a separate product on Steam that remastered both games and added a new final chapter. The store page for this game actively points players toward that Deluxe edition. This indicates that any ongoing creative work moved to that separate product rather than continuing as updates to this original release. This game's own development concluded with the May 2016 patch.
Evidence
Developer announced AVGN 1 & 2 Deluxe as a separate Steam product with remastered content and a new final chapter, signaling that future creative work moved to that title rather than continuing updates to this game.
Patch 1.3 released with additional bug fixes. This is the last developer communication for this title.
