梦江湖 launched on July 12, 2022 and went through an active update period, with the developer shipping major content updates regularly through mid-2023. A January 2023 roadmap outlined ambitious plans for the first half of 2023, including new challenge modes, story branches and multiple endings, and a new "Red Sleeve" script-type gameplay mode. The April and May 2023 updates delivered some of these targets (Tang Gate content and Fairy Palace master storylines), but the June 2023 targets — multiple story branches and endings, and the Red Sleeve mode — were never announced as shipped. After May 2023, the developer went silent for over three years. Then, on July 23, 2026, the developer posted again — but not with new content. The post describes a failed attempt to fix a longstanding achievement bug ("比翼双飞"), which introduced more bugs and had to be rolled back. The developer wrote: "It's very hard for me to figure out this project in the short term, I'm sorry." This message strongly suggests the developer has largely disengaged from active development and is struggling to maintain even basic functionality in the codebase. This July 2026 post is the most recent communication and carries significant weight: it acknowledges inability to fix known bugs, expresses apology, and implies no imminent development activity. However, it does not explicitly state that the game is finished or that no further updates will ever come. The roadmap commitments from January 2023 remain unfulfilled, and the developer has not formally closed them out. Both DLC items listed on the store (a deluxe edition and an original soundtrack) were released at launch and do not represent future content.
