所谓侠客 So-called Hero

所谓侠客 (So-called Hero) is a Chinese martial arts RPG currently in Early Access from a two-person development team at NewSmile Games. The game launched on February 14, 2024, and has been receiving consistent, frequent updates ever since. Three major story chapters have shipped since launch: the Part 2 "Four Ancient Schools" kickoff (October 1, 2024), the Gongshu Clan chapter (December 18, 2025), and the Juechen Tower chapter (June 13, 2026). On July 17, 2026, the developer shipped another substantial major update titled "Hero 2.0 – Chapter Two Concludes," introducing all four of the ancient sects referenced in prior announcements — the Golden Cauldron Divine Cult, the Gongshu Clan, the Dustless Ark, and Thousand Hammers Manor — with new narrative content, characters, and locations. Since that July 17, 2026 major release, the developer has remained active, posting an optimization patch on August 7, 2026, and two bug fix updates on August 19 and August 24, 2026. The August 19 patch explicitly mentions completing "sect information in preparation for the final chapter," indicating the main storyline is still being actively written toward a conclusion but has not yet reached it. The developer acknowledged in a December 2025 update that they had paused a separate project to refocus on this game, and in January 2025 noted their team consists of just two developers. These statements reflect ongoing commitment rather than any sign of winding down. The game is actively evolving, with story content still being expanded and the developer communicating regularly.
