Battlefield 6 launched on October 10, 2025 and operates as a structured live service game with numbered seasons, each delivering new maps, modes, weapons, vehicles, and Battle Pass content. Season 4 — "Pacific Front" — launched on July 21, 2026, introducing naval warfare, the Tsuru Reef map, new naval vehicles (RCB-90 Patrol Boat and 7.7m NSW RHIB), a dynamic wave system, three new weapons (EF88, BROD 3, VSSM), a Season 4 Battle Pass, and a new season of Ranked Battle Royale in REDSEC. Season 4 has continued to deliver content across multiple phases: Phase 2 ("Top Gun," August 18, 2026) brought Wake Island, two new fighter jets (F/A-81F Super Spectre and F-74A Seacat), the Interdictor sniper rifle, a new mode (Top Gun: Carrier Strike), and a new Gauntlet experience. Phase 3 ("Tidal Strike") launched September 15, 2026 with the Deep Six Collection Event, a new Diver's Knife melee weapon, Proximity Chat, and the Phantom Program for REDSEC. As of September 18, 2026, the development team is actively investigating and patching bugs from the most recent update. Looking ahead, a July 30, 2026 community update confirmed that Season 5 is coming in winter, promising three new maps, Platoons, a Server Browser, Multiplayer Leaderboards, and map reworks for Blackwell Fields and New Sobek City. The game uses a Battle Pass system, virtual currency (BFC), and premium seasonal upgrades (Battlefield Pro), all consistent with an ongoing live service designed to continuously deliver content. This is a game actively in the middle of its live service run, with Season 4 still in progress and Season 5 explicitly confirmed for later in 2026.
