Beat Saber launched on May 21, 2019 and has operated as a continuously expanding music game ever since. Beat Games (owned by Meta) has maintained a relentless content cadence: 269 DLC tracks across dozens of artist music packs have been released since 2019, with new packs and individual tracks arriving every one to three months. Recent additions include a free track "Gone for Good" by Haywyre (July 30, 2026), "Zombie" by YUNGBLUD (June 25, 2026), a free 8th Anniversary update adding three new tracks (May 28, 2026), The Prodigy Music Pack with 6 tracks (April 29, 2026), and the Coldplay Music Pack with 12 tracks (December 18, 2025). Beyond music packs, Beat Games has also regularly shipped free content updates (OST 8 in December 2025), major technical upgrades (a full transition to Unity's Universal Render Pipeline in July 2026), new environments, and ongoing feature additions such as Variable Note Jump Speed and Controller Profiles. A January 2024 developer post explicitly stated that the studio continues "to build and expand the game, with plans to provide even more content," and the 8th Anniversary post on May 28, 2026 closed with "Eight years of slashing beats together — and we're just getting started." There is no indication that content additions are slowing down or approaching a conclusion. The game is designed around an ever-expanding licensed music catalog — this is its core business model, and the developer shows every sign of continuing to operate it indefinitely.
