Evaluation
Biomass launched on October 12, 2020. In February 2022, the developer announced a sweeping free remaster update for existing owners, promising overhauled art, combat changes, new areas, bosses, and quests. That remaster evolved into a standalone product initially called Meridian, then renamed to Foreign Sun after a copyright issue with the earlier name. On March 14, 2026, the developer announced that Foreign Sun would release on April 21, 2026, and confirmed it would be a free upgrade for existing Biomass owners on Steam. The developer also noted that Foreign Sun feels more complete than Biomass ever did, suggesting it represents the definitive version of this game's experience. Since today is June 25, 2026, Foreign Sun has almost certainly already launched, delivering the promised upgrade to Biomass owners. Only one DLC was ever listed — a soundtrack released on June 2, 2021 — and no additional paid content has been announced.
