BloodRayne Betrayal (Legacy) launched on Steam on April 30, 2014 as a port of the original 2011 WayForward game. The developer shipped two small bug-fix patches in the first week after launch (May 7, 2014) to address startup issues and language settings, with no further updates to this specific game.
Notably, in June 2021, the publisher announced BloodRayne Betrayal: Fresh Bites — a full HD remaster of this same game, developed by WayForward and released as a separate Steam listing. This "Legacy" version was effectively superseded by that remaster. The publisher's May 2021 post about a "final update" referred to the BloodRayne and BloodRayne 2 Terminal Cut editions — not to this game — but the overall trajectory of the BloodRayne catalog confirms Ziggurat has moved on to newer editions.

The original video game femme fatale, Rayne, has returned to battle and feed in a brand new hack ‘n slash adventure. Slay ghastly enemies as Rayne, the sexy dhampir with superhuman strength, speed, and agility, recruited by the vampire hunting Brimstone Society for one last mission. The target is a lavish, yet sinister ball in a secluded castle with plenty of dark and gruesome surprises. With the help of a mysterious friend, and members of Brimstone, Rayne must infiltrate the manor, take out the fiendish horde, and stop an evil master plot once and for all.
