Blue Rider launched on March 3, 2016 as a complete shoot-em-up with 9 biomes, 9 bosses, and a full original soundtrack. Following launch, Ravegan issued a series of post-launch patches — a performance and bug-fix update on March 23, 2016; a content patch on April 7, 2016 that added the soundtrack for free and improved power-up drops; and a final update on July 7, 2016 that added Steam Trading Cards along with further performance and bug fixes. The sole DLC — the Original Soundtrack — was released on May 4, 2016. No content has been announced or shipped since July 7, 2016, and no future content has ever been communicated by the developer. The game launched as a self-contained product and all post-launch activity consisted of polish and minor additions consistent with wrapping up a finished title. The store description presents a fixed feature set with no mention of ongoing updates or expansions.
