Chiptune Champion launched on January 8, 2016 as a finished rhythm game with 40 songs, two game modes, leaderboards, and Steam Workshop support. The developer (Blake Garner, a solo developer) was active in the first weeks after launch, shipping several feature updates and bug fixes through early March 2016. The last recorded developer communication was on January 17, 2017, when a leaderboard bug was identified and resolved. There have been no news posts, feature updates, or announcements of any kind since that date. No DLC has ever been listed, no roadmap or future content was announced, and the store description contains no language suggesting ongoing or planned additions. The game launched as a self-contained product and the developer has not communicated any plans to expand it. The most recent patch (January 17, 2017) is best understood as the final maintenance action, after which the game became complete.
