Evaluation
Code 7 is an episodic hacking adventure that launched in August 2017. The series consists of five episodes: Episodes 0 through 3 have been released, with Episodes 2 and 3 shipping together in April 2019. Episode 4 — the finale — is still listed on the store page as "In Development" and is included in the Season Pass alongside the already-released Episodes 2 and 3, meaning the pass has not yet been fully delivered.
On January 11, 2021, the developers (Zein and Kevin of Goodwolf Studio) posted a candid update explaining that Episode 4 development had been paused in November 2020 due to a combination of creative fatigue, the studio's financial pressures, and COVID-related disruptions. They stated they were committed to finishing the game and planned to resume work in March 2021. That post is the last official communication from the studio.
As of June 2026, more than five years have passed since that January 2021 update, and the promised March 2021 resumption date came and went with no follow-up. The developers have posted no patch notes, status updates, or announcements in that entire period. The store page continues to show Episode 4 as in development, but there is no evidence that active work has resumed or that the episode is close to release. Given the extended silence far beyond the studio's historical communication patterns, it is unclear whether development is still ongoing.
Evidence
Developer post confirms Episode 4 development was paused in November 2020 due to burnout, financial pressures, and COVID, with a stated plan to resume in March 2021. Developers affirm 'the game is NOT dead.' This is the last official communication from the studio.
Season Pass (Episodes 2–4) is marked Released on the store, but Episode 4 itself has not shipped, meaning the pass remains partially unfulfilled

What would you do if you found yourself trapped on an eerie space station with nothing but a computer? Play as the hacker Alex and save the world from your keyboard as a sinister A.I. rises from the corner of the universe... but you are not the only one who acts from the shadows. Monsters lurk in the dark and soon humanity itself is in danger. When analog and digital worlds collide, only a master of both can survive.
Code 7 is a hacking thriller in which your imagination is the stage. The things unseen are the most terrifying ones... travel the network, gather information from e-mails, documents, and logs, hack protected computers, and navigate your partner through dangerous situations. Work together, gain their trust and make the right choices. The outcome of the story is determined by how you act and what you say.
