Dead Effect 2 VR launched out of Early Access on October 3, 2017. Following launch, the developer shipped two major content drops: both the Cybermagic DLC and the Escape from Meridian story expansion released simultaneously on April 5, 2019. These represented the only paid DLC ever listed for the game, and both are now fully released. The store description contains no language about future content, seasonal updates, or ongoing development plans. The developer's last communication of any kind was the April 5, 2019 update announcement. No posts, patches, roadmaps, or developer statements have appeared since that date. With both DLC shipped, no unreleased content listed on the store, no outstanding developer commitments, and over seven years of silence since the last update, the game is complete as delivered.

Play the single-player missions at your own pace or engage your friends in the cooperative or PvP multiplayer mode. Train, develop your character, collect and upgrade countless weapons, gear and body implants and take control of the monster-infested ship.
