Divinity: Original Sin 2 launched in September 2017 and received a comprehensive Definitive Edition update on August 31, 2018, which was delivered free to all existing owners and represented a major overhaul of the game. Following the Definitive Edition, Larian continued supporting the game with a series of free "Gift Bag" updates adding new content, with the final and largest one — Gift Bag #5: The Four Relics of Rivellon — shipping on June 14, 2020. After that point, developer communications shifted to maintenance and platform support: a cross-save feature for iPad was added in September 2021, and Steam Deck verification was announced in June 2022. No new content has been announced or released since June 2020. All three DLC items listed on the store are released. By June 2019, Larian had publicly announced they were moving on to develop Baldur's Gate 3, signaling that DOS2 was no longer their primary development focus. The game shipped as a complete, definitive product and has received no content additions in over five years.
