Dogworld launched on March 18, 2021 and received two quick maintenance patches in March and April of that year. After a long gap, the developer returned on April 1, 2023 with Patch 1.3, which added achievements and fixed a bug. Critically, that post also included a candid explanation from the solo developer: Dogworld had performed well enough to ship but not well enough to fund continued development, so they shifted focus to their next game (OTXO) shortly after launch. They described the achievements patch as closing out a nagging loose end — something that had made the game "feel kind of incomplete" — and expressed no plans for further content. The developer's own framing makes clear that Dogworld is a finished product: they fixed the major issues, added achievements, and moved on. There have been no developer communications since April 1, 2023, no unreleased DLC, no roadmap, and no announced future content of any kind.

Shoot, jump, and slide your way through a ruined, mysterious, dog-filled world as you fight to save humanity from the clutches of a rogue AI named Daddy. Acquire new weapons, upgrade them to be more powerful, collect secrets, meet bizarre characters, and explore the ruins of a destroyed world.

After a catastrophic event on Earth, humanity is directed underground and into pods for their safety. You are told that the surface world is dangerous and uninhabitable, and inside the pods is the only safe place to be. But when you are launched from the underground in a freak accident, you realize that the surface is just fine and there's more to this world than you thought. The surface is teeming with life, except... they all seem to be dogs. And some of them talk.
