Dream Cycle launched into full 1.0 release on August 8, 2022, graduating from an Early Access period during which it received two major updates (The Quickening in November 2021 and The Reforging in May 2022). At launch, lead developer Toby Gard posted a heartfelt message framing the 1.0 release as the culmination of the game's development journey — describing what the team set out to accomplish and presenting it as a finished work. Following the 1.0 launch, the developer issued a series of hotfix patches through August 20, 2022 to address bugs and polish the experience.
