Evaluation

Escape the Game is a free-to-play indie adventure that released on October 13, 2016. The store description explicitly describes it as "the introduction to a longer and larger game," and the developer's September 2017 post confirmed that a planned Episode 1 expansion was never completed due to time constraints during college. In that same post, the developer expressed hope to return to Kevin's story full-time after finishing school, and in October 2017, a separate sequel game called Break the Game was listed on Steam as an early store page. However, no further updates to Escape the Game itself have been posted since 2017. The most recent developer communication — a May 2024 post — announced the launch of a completely different game (ROBOBEAT), with only a brief, humorous aside referencing Kevin. There is no roadmap, unreleased DLC, or developer statement indicating that Escape the Game will receive any additional content. The sequel (Break the Game) appears to be a separate product, not an update to this game. Given that the base game shipped as a self-contained introduction, Episode 1 was formally abandoned, no content commitments remain outstanding for this title, and developer activity since 2017 has focused entirely on other projects, Escape the Game is best understood as a complete — if intentionally brief — standalone release. The completion date reflects the original launch, as no post-launch content was ever shipped.
Evidence
Developer's most recent communication announced the launch of a new, unrelated game (ROBOBEAT). Kevin is mentioned only as a jokey aside. No mention of any future updates or content for Escape the Game.

About this game

Kevin is tired of being in this game.

Can you help him escape?

The game is heavily influenced from games like The Stanley Parable, Thomas was Alone and other story-driven games were choices you make matter. The game is about the comedy, tragedy, and drama in Kevin's escape.

Through out the whole game, Kevin will constantly talk with you. Banter on choices you make and tell you about his plans. The game also includes a collection of gadgets with a unique twist to them - to break the game's boundaries. But the question still remains, is it even possible to escape?

This is the introduction to a longer and larger game.
