Evaluation

Mandagon is a free-to-play indie exploration game that launched on August 3, 2016. After release, Blind Sky Studios shipped a Mac port on August 7, 2016, and followed up with a digital art book and OST as paid DLC on September 8, 2016 — the only DLC ever listed for the game, and it has been released. In November 2019, the studio made the OST and art book freely available to all players, representing the final developer action taken on the base game. An Android port shipped in October 2017. In April 2018, the developer announced a sequel — Mandagon: Bones of Clay — described as being in early production, which indicates the team's focus shifted to a new project rather than further content for the original game. The last developer communication of any kind was the November 25, 2019 post making the DLC free. There are no unreleased DLC entries, no outstanding content commitments, no roadmap, and no announcement of further updates to this game. The sequel announcement and the cessation of all activity point clearly to the original Mandagon being a complete, finished product.
