Expeditions: Rome launched on January 20, 2022 and received one paid DLC, "Death or Glory," on April 12, 2022, which added a gladiator class, new arenas, weapons, and armor. Both DLC entries in the store listing are marked as released, with nothing unreleased.
The studio behind the game (originally Logic Artists, now operating as Campfire Cabal) went through a difficult period after Rome's launch, losing staff and going largely silent. In a May 20, 2025 post, they confirmed the studio had survived and was working on the next Expeditions title. They also acknowledged releasing a free quality-of-life patch for Rome in November 2024 (version 1.6), which added gameplay improvements and bug fixes but no new story content.
On June 6, 2026, Campfire Cabal formally announced Expeditions: Samurai, set in Sengoku-era Japan. Developer communications from July and August 2026 confirm the studio is fully focused on bringing Samurai through Early Access — including dev diaries, a gameplay trailer, and a vlog posted on August 4, 2026, just days before Samurai's Early Access launch. All development energy has moved to the new title.
No further content for Expeditions: Rome has been announced or hinted at. The game's content was complete with the release of Death or Glory on April 12, 2022, and the November 2024 patch was a maintenance and quality-of-life update, not the start of new content support.
