Evaluation

Girls Like Robots launched on February 14, 2014 as a complete puzzle game with three acts and 110 puzzles. In the months following launch, the developer shipped a few feature patches — most notably face remixing and a full Japanese translation in March 2014 — but the game's core content was always the finished product that shipped at launch. In April 2023, the developer released a substantial 4K remaster update, overhauling textures, fonts, platform compatibility, controller support, and the underlying engine. This was described as a "labor of love" rather than new story content, and no additional puzzles or acts were announced alongside it. Most recently, in October 2025, the developer pushed two maintenance patches to address a security vulnerability in the underlying Unity engine and to fix a resulting bug that made the last puzzle of Act 1 temporarily uncompletable. These are purely maintenance updates. There is no announced future content, no unreleased DLC on the store, and no roadmap or developer statement suggesting more content is coming. The game shipped as a finished product and has been maintained over the years but not expanded with new content. The April 2023 remaster is the most significant post-launch work, and it was framed as a polish/compatibility effort rather than a content addition. The completion date reflects the original launch, as the game was content-complete from day one.
