Gold Mining Simulator launched on October 13, 2017 and has received steady updates and paid DLC over the years. All five DLC packs are currently released, with the most recent — Gems & Glory — shipping on November 20, 2025, alongside major free update 1.10 on November 19, 2025. A 2026 roadmap published on January 27, 2026 outlined additional free improvements including loading zone fixes, a new big bulldozer, custom difficulty settings, and other quality-of-life changes.
On August 12, 2026, the developer announced Gold Mining Simulator: Definitive Edition — a separately purchasable product planned for release later in 2026. It will bundle all existing DLC content with substantial new additions: a full graphics engine upgrade (URP), a seamless open world with loading zones removed, two new heavy vehicles (Big Dump Truck and Fuel Truck), a new custom game mode, improved foliage and weather, and streamlined plot management tools. The developer explained this must be a separate product rather than a patch because the hardware requirements are significantly higher.
On August 27, 2026, the developer posted a follow-up update confirming the Definitive Edition is proceeding as planned while adjusting the loyalty discount structure (90% discount for all existing base game owners, available during pre-order and for 14 days after launch). This most recent post — just six days before today's assessment — confirms the Definitive Edition release remains an active, upcoming commitment.
