Grandiose launched on July 7, 2021 and has received a steady stream of updates from a solo developer. The game received two major content updates during its post-launch life: the Unreal Engine 5 overhaul in version 4.0 (February 25, 2023) and a substantial rework in version 4.18 (November 14, 2023). The November 2023 update was notable for significantly simplifying the game — removing numerous systems, streamlining menus, and refocusing the design — suggesting the developer was wrapping up the game's evolution rather than expanding it. Crucially, the developer noted in the November 2023 update that they had spent a long period working on a separate project called "Sunlight Soccer" and were returning to Grandiose specifically to deliver this rework. This framing, combined with the large-scale removal of features and simplification of the game's scope, strongly suggests this was a concluding update rather than a stepping stone to more content. Since November 14, 2023, there have been no further developer communications of any kind — no patches, no announcements, no devlogs. The developer's March 2023 statement that they would continue working on the game "as long as it continues to be profitable" provides context: that conditional commitment was followed by a final reworking update and then silence lasting through June 2026. With no unreleased DLC on the store, no roadmap, no announced content, and no developer activity since November 14, 2023, the game appears to have reached its completed state with that final update.
