This is consistent with Codemasters' pattern of removing older GRID titles from sale after successor games launch. The game originally released in 2013 and received a period of post-launch support, including a community patch (August 2013), a free Demolition Derby mode (September 2013), and various DLC packs. The final major content release was GRID 2 Reloaded on January 22, 2014, a bundled edition that added the Spa and Bathurst circuits along with 25 additional cars. By April 2014, Codemasters announced GRID Autosport as the next entry in the series, explicitly acknowledging that GRID 2 had not fully met community expectations.
