Hellbound: Survival Mode

Hellbound: Survival Mode is a free standalone product that serves as a demo/preview for the full Hellbound campaign game. The survival mode itself left Early Access on November 22, 2019, at which point the developer stated they could no longer dedicate time to it as development focus had shifted to the full campaign. The full campaign launched on August 4, 2020, and a follow-up update (v1.1.1 "Flying Souls") shipped on December 18, 2020, adding a new campaign level, a new enemy type, and a remastered survival map. Critically, that December 2020 post included a clear farewell message from the developer: the team stated they were "not in a financial position to continue supporting the team until further notice" and explicitly framed the update as a goodbye gift to supporters — "this update that we bring you today is a gift for all of you who have been supporting us." This is a direct developer statement that active content development has concluded. Subsequent posts from the studio (October 2021, December 2022, December 2023, January 2025) focus entirely on other Saibot Studios titles — The Black Heart, Out of Bounds, and Tenebris Somnia — with no mention of any new content planned for Hellbound or this Survival Mode. The studio has clearly moved on to other projects, and no outstanding content commitments exist for this game.
